The body has pressure points and the needles are place on these points depending on the complaint. It helps to restore the bodies energy and help in the healing process. The treatment has been used in China for over 3,000 years. Missionaries and doctors brought the treatment to Europe in the 17th century. It has grown in popularity since the 1970s and is now widely taught and practised in the West

History of Chiropractic

David Palmer

Early forms of Chiropractic were used in 17,500 B.C, Hippocrates, talked of spinal misalignment problems. Chiropractic as we know it started about 100 years ago.

The first recorded chiropractic adjustment was performed on September 18,1895, by Dr. Daniel David Palmer, a Canadian-born teacher and healer.

Xrays

Are used to help the Specialist monitor the paitents condition and to ascertain any changes to the curvature.

David Palmer

The German physicist Wilhelm K. Roentgen discovered them way back in 1895. During one of his experiments, he noticed that radiation not only penetrated through the skin so he could see deeper structures like bone tissues, but it also produced phosphorescence or light. He didn't really know what these mysterious rays were, he named them "X" rays.

A modern way to view an x-ray

I have had many x-rays taken for my Scoliosis and have always viewed them on a light box with my Consultant. When I had my last x-ray I was able to view it on the computer monitor.
