Help us to end the social care lottery

Today the Government is beginning a six month public consultation on the future of social care. Gordon Brown announced this week that he wants to make social care services fairer and affordable. This is encouraging news but we need your help to call on the Government for a social care system that supports disabled people to live independent lives and offers them genuine life choices.

Today’s public consultation is the perfect opportunity to make your voices heard at the highest level and writing to your local MP is just one way of doing this. Thank you to all of you that have sent a letter to your MP so far asking them to write to Ivan Lewis MP, Minister for Care Services. Each letter sent demonstrates the widespread feeling that disabled people have a right to be supported to live independent lives and that this needs to be reflected in future changes to the social care system.

If you have not yet sent your letter then please just take a couple of minutes to do so at: www.lcdisability.org/socialcare The time to act is now!

Thank you for your support. Visit www.lcdisability.org/socialcare now to take action.
