VenturaDesigns

VenturaDesigns was started in 1992 by Dr. Joseph Ventura (left) as a software company to develop patient education multimedia tools. During the development of those tools it became apparent to Dr. Ventura that the company had two options regarding images used in the software titles: Buy them or make them. Dr. Ventura then took on the challenge of learning the skills necessary to master 3D imaging.

Little by Little

Dr. Ventura began to create a library of models, images and animations to be used in his software. Soon the library was valued at over $100,000 and other companies were requesting custom projects. In 1998 a software title, AnatomyPro, was released as the first commercial real-time rendering software to display and print scenes using real 3D models. But Dr. Ventura's thoughts were always toward using the Internet to deliver the content.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AnatomyWorld started in 2001

Even though this site was officially opened in August of 2008, the beginnings go back to 2001. Various platforms were tried as 3D delivery systems, but they all suffered from the same problems of slow Internet access, slow computers and bland graphics cards. It wasn't until 2008 that high-speed Internet connections were common and most new computers came with serious graphics cards capable of providing an adequate 3D experience. According to Dr. Ventura, "I'm confident that this site will perform adequately on today's computers with high speed access, and brilliantly with just a couple of tweaks like an upgraded 3D graphics card. This is serious 3D for the serious student."

The graphics studio of VenturaDesigns was started in 1994 when Dr. Joe Ventura needed specialized anatomy graphics for a patient education software project. According to Dr. Ventura "We jumped right into the technology using 3D Studio and buying high-end 3D models, literally learning what to do along the way."

We hope this site is of value to you and would love to hear your comments.
