ADELI Rehabilitation in Slovakia

Adeli Suit Therapy

Adeli Suit Therapy
We first took Matthew to Adeli May 2005 we done a course for 2 weeks this involved a daily program of neurophysiological exercise in the adeli suit.
  • laser acupuncture therapy.
  • healing mud therapy.
  • speech therapy.
  • therapeutic massage before and after the suit therapy with thermo/cry contrast therapy.

Also Matthew had manual therapy of the spine and of the extremities every second day by the doctor.

As a mum I was very taken by this treatment when I sat and watched them, there were 3 therapists working with Matthew at the one time while in the adeli suit there was good humour and plenty of encouragement from them {the therapists} to Matthew for the first time he was working very hard with so much motivation he was also having fun and enjoying himself without realising just how much exercise work he was actually doing and the more they praised him the more he wanted to do.

As before Adeli Matthew was a very difficult child he found physio with his therapist at home painful and on most occasions would not cooperate with her he would fight the exercises all the way and there would be plenty of tears and tantrums on every visit.

Improvements In Matthew

He now walks with his heels down for the first time in his life, his heels are down flat on the floor and he is also able to hold his trunk in a more stable {normal} manner whilst walking. Also he no longer uses his wheelchair we only take it in the car if we go out for a day trip. His fine motor skills in his hand are also improving he is getting better holding a pen or pencil also doing things like jig-saws are also improving each day. Since returning from ADELI Matthew has been coming on in leaps and bounds he is much more happy within himself he feels very proud of himself he has much more confidence within himself since leaving his wheelchair and rollator at home he no longer wears AFO {splints} he wears special orthopaedic shoes which allows him to sit on the floor in school and join in all the carpet activates with all his class fellows now. He now runs at break time in the playground he can run jump and carry on running without losing his balance all the time.

We have already planned and booked our second trip to Adeli for 29/08/2005 we are looking forward to returning as we now see a future for Matthew to lead an independent life, we fell with there program this will be possible as the Adeli program is unique so are all the staff and doctors the way the Adeli therapists and doctors work together to correct every movement within the Childs body is unique they are very sensitive kind , caring and hard working people they know there job very well the doctor is one in a million he is a very cleaver amazing man who excelled all our expectations beyond belief I do not have enough praise or thanks for all they have done thank- you seems so little to say it is not enough as they worked very hard from the bottom of there hearts and there aim is to make every child mobile.

ADELI Rehabilitation of Cerebral Palsy

To all the parents out there pray to god have hope in your heart, there is hope for all our children they will walk and get better they just need the right help to get there we are so proud of Matthew its been six long years full of tears now we have a big light at the beginning of the tunnel sunshine is waiting at the end for us we have a long way to go but we are now on the right path we feel positive for the first time in a long time
